John Oram's photos with the keyword: Class 56

As restrictions continue and we crawl on hands and knees towards various milestones, I have turned again to my archive. On previous occasions, I decided not to scan certain pictures because of quality, composition or lack of accompanying information. Over recent years, I have improved my editing techniques (you might not agree) and I can better recover some of my older images even if the composition is not always what I would accept today. Following my observations on Lovers Walk, I decided to find out how people had got pictures of Totton Yard. My previous visits had revealed nothing. Today, careful map reading, well chosen parking and a lot of walking allowed me to take my own photographs from public locations. Two DCR Class 56s accompanied a ballast train at the yard. Ex-Fastline 56301 was in clear view but 56311 was partially obscured by a truck when viewed from the Junction Road footbridge. This view is from the Brokenford Lane footbridge. 200_P1040340
