Rail Replacement Services from Havant (1) - 3 Dece…
03 Dec 2017 |
|
Sunday 3 December 2017 saw an extensive programme of rail replacement services, involving several operators, run from Havant station as trains did not run between Southampton and Havant or Havant and Barnham.
The first buses I saw on my arrival in Havant were a long way from their Poole base and, I presume, the standby vehicles as others were more active. With space in the station forecourt limited, Go South Coast (Wilts & Dorset) UNIBUS branded Alexander Dennis 400MMCs 1624/HF66CDZ and 1628/HF66CEN were in Market Parade.

Salisbury Reds 3308/SN03ECC and 3309/SN03ECD
Eastleigh has become well known in the last few years for storing buses for various reasons. It has seen vehicles for First on delivery and after withdrawal. It has also seen other vehicles stored during school and college holidays when, presumably, surplus to requirements. It is not clear why two Salisbury Reds (Wilts & Dorset) TransBus Mini Pointer Darts were there.

My latest batch of scans consists of photographs of generally low quality but, hopefully, of interest after 30+ years. This shows Wilts & Dorset Leyland National 3737/XFX898S at the Triangle, Bournemouth. I think in such pictures it is worth looking at the background and incidental subjects, often much altered or gone altogether.

My latest batch of scans consists of photographs of generally low quality but, hopefully, of interest after 30+ years. This shows Wilts & Dorset Daimler Fleetline 1911/OJD217R at The Square, Bournemouth. This vehicle was ex-London Transport DMS2217 in December 1982. I think in such pictures it is worth looking at the background and incidental subjects, often much altered or gone altogether.

My latest batch of scans consists of photographs of generally low quality but, hopefully, of interest after 30+ years. This shows Wilts & Dorset Daimler Fleetline 1913/OJD225R at The Square, Bournemouth. This vehicle was ex-London Transport DMS2225 in December 1982 and later became Yellow Buses 533. I think in such pictures it is worth looking at the background and incidental subjects, often much altered or gone altogether.
