The two girls (Isadora Noe Freeman Smith and Mary Christiana Freemen) were the daughters of Amos Noe Freeman, an abolitionist, minister and educator and Christiana Taylor Livingston Williams. The oldest girl, Mary Christiana Freeman was married to Robert Foster Wheeler. She graduated from Oberlin College in 1873. The couple had four children. The oldest was a daughter named Mary Alice Wheeler (nicknamed "Kit"), she graduated from Smith College in 1906. Around 1910 she married a doctor named, William Clarence McNeill in Washington, D.C., They had three children: William Clarence McNeill, II who became a civil engineer, Katherine McNeill Walker, who became a social worker in Harlem, and Robert Henry McNeill, who became a photographer. Their eldest William C. McNeill II had a son (William C McNeil, III), who is still alive. Katherine McNeill Walker had two daughters who are still living, and Robert H. McNeill had a son and a daughter, still living. Robert Foster and Mary Christiana's second child was Laura Wheeler. She married Walter Waring but never had children. Finally Robert and Mary Christiana's two sons, Lloyd and Arthur Wheeler both graduated from Harvard and lived in New York. Arthur became a high school teacher and lived in Delaware. He had two daughters and one son. Lloyd had two children. Mary Alice Wheeler McNeill cared for her parents (Robert and Mary Christiana Freeman Wheeler) in their final years. They lived with Mary Alice at her home in Washington D C., She also cared for her sister Laura in Laura's home in Pennsylvania during her final illness. The youngest girl, Isadora Noe Freeman Smith married Thomas Smith and had two children: Mortimer Freeman Smith (1894- circa 1945) and Amy Smith (1897-1912). Florence married Lloyd William Henson Hardin in 1893 at the age of nineteen. They had a total of five kids. Her husband -was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He passed in 1950; Florence passed in 1976 at the ripe old age of 102. Florence's sister Grace, taught music in the Kansas City school system until she married John Muse and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and later to Chicago. After her husband passed, she returned to Kansas City where she sang in the Allen AME Church Choir and taught music until she died six months shy of her 100th birthday in 1978.
