The sculpture 'High Tide' by Craig Knowles and Colin Wilbourn in Sunderland Harbour. The sculpture consists of seven concrete bowls representing the different lunar phases and was built in 2001.

An outbreak of colder weather in mid December brought significantly colder temperatures to the area, with lows of -9C on some nights. Unlike a few other areas in Britain, there has been relatively little snow, but a dusting last night added a nice touch to the beach at Sunderland harbour, with a Cumolonimbus cloud passing in the distance.
