The two Wear bridges over the River Wear in Sunderland. The main bridge (Wearmouth Bridge) at front was completed in 1929, while the obscured railway bridge (Monkwearmouth Railway Bridge) dates back to 1879. Formerly heavily industrialised, this section of Sunderland has seen extensive redevelopment in recent years as evidenced by the new apartment blocks and river walkway.
