Taken the day before we took this train to New Jersey. We were visiting the station to get an idea of the layout, and planning our upcoming train trip. Image taken with phone (sorry, poor quality) and processed with GIMP.

We visited the local Fair today. The veggies were on this table, showing their red and blue award ribbons. (This is not the State Fair, more like a County Fair, maybe regional. But the same kinds of events go on, from carnival to music concerts, fun rides, and of course, judging home-grown and home-made objects.) Image processed with GIMP.

We had excellent weather in southern Missouri for the eclipse on 8 April, 2024. Our previous experience was in 2017, and while the photos were wonderful, I never got a shot at the "diamond ring" effect that year. This, and a few others, were taken at the end of totality this April. The large flare at the very bottom of the disk was seen in a number of our photos. Hand-held at 280mm equivalent zoom, and processed with GIMP. This was the same camera-lens I used in 2017 (nearly the same settings, too.)

We spent a beautiful day in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park (North Unit) when the fall leaves were very colorful. This was taken inside the campground, and you can see an RV parked under the trees. Image processed with GIMP.
