Robert Swanson's photos with the keyword: sunday challenge

The Sunday Challenge wanted us to create advertisements, so here it is. The inset image is a very old advertisement for Quaker Oats (more than 100 years old). I just added some wording to enhance the ad a little bit. The logo is quite old: "The original 1877 logo featured a full-length sketch of a Quaker man in black and white holding a scroll with “pure” written on it. In 1956 Jim Nash adjusted this image to be just of the Quaker man from the shoulders up, also in black and white. This version of the logo only lasted a year before being added some color by Harold Sundblond (most famously known for his Coca-Cola Santa Claus illustrations). This featured the Quaker man in full color within a yellow-rimmed oval. The oval sits in a red rectangle with a navy rectangle below featuring the words “Quaker” written in white. " In 1915, Quaker "offered a cereal box premium .... Buyers could send in one dollar and a cutout of the “Quaker Man” in exchange for a double boiler to cook their oatmeal with." The Sunday Challenge was to manipulate an existing photo, and post it. I thought that the original of this photo had already been uploaded to Ipernity. Apparently, not. So, I just uploaded the "original". Here are a pair of Hong Kong night photos, one straight, the other "en-noised" by GIMP. Looks interesting on a black background.

An iron fence I saw during our tour in Phuket. (Squares in squares, etc. Also some flowers inside some of the squares.) Much manipulated in GIMP to get it into a square format.

Open door Sunday Challenge. This "office" was a small building in one of the locks of the Panama Canal. This 2018 transit was yet another Canal one for us (10 so far?), and it was made more interesting by torrential rains.
