Our house on Maui (left) got a retaining wall. This is the start of the project, where all you have are rocks. The walls on Maui (and I think many other islands) were built by people from Tonga. They seemed to be the only ones in the business. Our neighbor's house (right) already has a retaining wall. (Oh yes, our, and our neighbor's fences are in the picture, too. Our "lanai" is above the garage. We spent many hours there watching the beautiful scenery, and the shipping in the harbor.) Image processed with GIMP.

Taken from the cruise ship as we left Venice. This lovely park is located away from the crush of tourists and St. Marks. You can see the folks enjoying a sunny day and the pleasant benches. Taken along the coast highway in Oregon in 2008-09. This was the walk down to a lighthouse, and the area was shrouded in fog when I caught this image.

One of the major gardens in the world, Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, Canada. We have enjoyed visiting several times. Each season provides different color. The plantings are maintained very carefully, so there is something to see at every visit.
