Taken at Kruger National Park, 2018. We saw groups of lions every day (and some at night) during our safari. Panasonic GX85 100-300 lens, processed with GIMP. (Here's an animal for Sunday Challenge. Enjoy!)

Baobab tree at Bandia Nature Reserve, Senegal. While most of our tour of this area was for the various animals, these trees really impressed. The trunk can store a lot of water, something that is needed in the dry savannah.

We stayed out during our safari, until it got dark (more animals around then). While waiting for the sunset, I got this shot through a tree. In my mind, this is a "typical" view of the African veldt. Image processed with GIMP.

Taken during our safari at Kruger National Park, South Africa. Near the end of the first day, the driver took us around to see some animals in the dark. He used a spotlight to illuminate them, which probably caused some irritation... There was a pride of lions in the grass nearby, and his spotlight caught this lion quite close to us. (The lions are over-lit, but there are now some possibly dangerous shadows. Who else is in the grass, waiting for a Sunday Challenge?)
