Maui Sunrise with Road to Haleakala

11 Jan 2025 33 25 220
We took hundreds (and more) of photos of the amazing sunrises we saw from our Maui house. The road up to Haleakala makes an illuminated "snake" during this lovely sunrise. Taken in 2005. Image processed with GIMP.

Delicate Arch at Sunrise

19 Dec 2024 26 12 265
We did not hike up to Delicate Arch; the folks you see in the photo, did. We were at the viewpoint far down in the valley. Used the maximum telephoto with my Panasonic GX85. The rising sun has just touched 2/3's of the Arch. Some of the photographers on the mountain still have their tripods set up. Each moment was a different view, as the sun lit various parts of the scene. Image processed with GIMP. Oh yes, 600mm equivalent Panasonic zoom telephoto. There was a very nice log railing all around the viewpoint area, which I used as a "tripod".

Sit and Enjoy the View (HBM)

Taken on the beach near our house on Maui (1999-2008). After retirement, we often walked on the beach at sunrise. Someone had placed a bench for viewing. Image processed with GIMP.

Acapulco Sunrise

05 May 2020 9 2 555
Taken as our cruise ship entered the remarkable natural harbor of Acapulco, Mexico. We were on the Legend of the Seas in 2004, cruising through the Panama Canal from California.

Sunrise at Hobe Sound, Florida

02 May 2020 16 12 627
We were staying at a state park near Hobe Sound in our RV. One morning, we had this spectacular sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean.

God's Tree

02 May 2020 13 3 481
At least I call it by that name. This was a tree along a golf course on Maui. I was driving to work, and spotted this sunrise and tree silhouette.

Albuquerque Sunrise (H. A. N. W. E.)

10 Feb 2020 15 6 502
The scenery was beautiful around Albuquerque, when we attended the 2015 Balloon Fiesta. This is just one sunrise that we enjoyed. See: swansongrp.com/P/p/air_narrative/balloons

Maui Sunrise

04 Feb 2020 12 6 718
The sun was blasting through the clouds around Haleakala, to spray its crepuscular rays around, while the palm trees swayed in the trade winds. In other words, another beautiful day in Paradise (Maui).
