The Saltburn Cliff Tramway opened in 1884 to replace a vertical hoist and is now the oldest water balanced funicular still in operation in Great Britain, linking the Victorian town of Saltburn with the only remaining pleasure pier on the whole North East and Yorkshire coast. Cilk on photo

Now the yarn bomber, or possibly a group of them, struck again in June, decorating the railing on the Saltburn pier with a second and even more elaborate yarn bomb, this time with an aquatic theme. The Saltburn residents seem universally delighted with the wit, skill, and invention of the yarn bombs, but curious as to who could be responsible.
