Chinese Bridge over the River Derwent. The locally known Chinese bridge spans the river Derwent, and is a popular place for locals to go swimming. From here there are good views to the south and the “Jaws of Borrowdale”, dominated by the central Castle Crag, which once used to have a hill fort on top.
