These were the wedding flowers, so I obviously had to take a few pictures of them. I settled on this shot.

Here's the clock tower, which still has a working bell.

This is inside the courtyard, decorated with coats of arms dating back several centuries before the current zamek was even built.

This was my second shot of the zamek.

I was recently in Sychrovsky Zamek for a wedding, so I had the chance to photograph this castle/chateau that I had never seen before. These buildings, the modern zamek, are actually quite recent, having been built roughly in the years 1832-1862 by the Rohan family. The site is much older, though, as a fort existed here as far back as the 15th Century. The zamek has been owned by the government since 1945, and since 1950 it has been open to tourists, with restoration work (primarily begun in the 1990's) continuing to this day. In 1995, it became an officially protected historic landmark.
