DPP #8234 with 6909 and 7021 at Radlicka, Prague,…

09 Aug 2009 298
Although you can just spot a Skoda 14t behind these trams, 6909 was coupled to 7021, and was followed by 8234, making it a mostly T3 scene at the moment that I was there.

The cab was original except for the digital clock and the tinted glass. They've since rebuilt the vast majority of T3's, even the "unrebuilt" ones, with complete enclosures, I'm assuming to keep teenage idiots and drunks from throwing things onto the driver's head.

The number was 6909, which indicates an unrebuilt T3, more or less.

One day when I was in Radlicka, I noticed this charmingly unrebuilt (except for obvious things like the lights and ticket stampers) Tatra T3, so I decided to take some shots of it.

Last Russian Prague Metro Train, Radlicka, Prague,…

04 Aug 2009 300
While if I'm not mistaken this wasn't the last day for this unrebuilt Russian train to run (supposedly it was pulled from service on July 2nd, 2009), it was close to the very last. Supposedly the graffiti was cleaned off for the final run. Now these are consigned to history....sort of. The A and B lines are still worked exclusively by them in rebuilt form. The only truly recent trains on the Metro are on the C line.

Memorial in Radlicka, Prague, CZ, 2009

04 Aug 2009 224
At first glance, this looks like a was memorial, until you realise the date on it is a few months' post-war. I also note that virtually the victims mentioned are either women, or not of military age. Does anybody know what this commemorates? Was it a Communist massacre? A fire? An accident? I haven't been able to find out.

There were the taillights, with the backup light in the middle.

Tatra T3 Window, Prague, CZ, 2009

26 Jul 2009 279
This was one of the side windows. This T3 was a T3M, so it had those horrible cloth seats that soak up filth.

This T6A5 was sitting behind 8237.

This was a rear parking light, of sorts, on the right side....

Tatra T3 Rear Reflector, Prague, CZ, 2009

These reflectors supplement the taillights at night, particularly when parked.

I decided to take a bunch of detail photos of a T3 in Radlicka one day, but by chance on the day I found one parked correctly, it was one with a Margot advertising livery. Oh well....

18 Jul 2009 274
This small Chapel is somewhat incongruently placed next to the Radlicka tram station and the modern CSOB bank building. The Kaple sv. Jana Nepmuckeho was built to a Baroque design in 1722, and now sits in modern surroundings
