Pedestrian Tunnel in Krc, Prague, CZ, 20105

This was just a random, lucky shot with the Contina. When I saw the scene, I knew that I wanted it.

Trees in the Snow, Picture 2, Krc, Prague, CZ, 201…

The day after I finished my roll of Fujicolor Superia 1600, I tried the Plus-X roll in my Zeiss-Ikon Contina LK, and started it in Krc, taking more snow pictures. The snow still hadn't melted, so it still looked like New York more than Prague.

Fall Colors in Krc, Picture 2, Prague, CZ, 2009

I just took this at the end of a parking lot in Krc. The saturation and contrast have been cranked up more than is obvious, I think because the original's colors and contrast were inhibited by low light.

This shot had the saturation and contrast cranked up slightly, but not tremendously. This was taken among some office buildings in the vicinity of Sidliste Krc.

Pond at Krc, Prague, CZ, 2009

This was the next place that I reached with my bike that I took a photo of. This pond was almost completely pea green, but unfortunately the crappy cameraphone didn't pick it up. When I cranked up the saturation in Gimp I managed to get it to be slightly more realistic, though.

Horses in Sidliste Krc, Prague, CZ, 2009

Every summer, this field in Sidliste Krc is used for things like circuses, carvinal rides, etc., but often horses are brought along, too. The rides were behind me when I took this. The orange line through the picture is the electric fence.

In the post-Communist era, most of the Sidliste projects have been modernised and rebuilt, and most of these rebuilds have included colorful repainting. This is what happened when I took the relatively bleak winter scene below, and cranked the contrast and saturation up.

Sidliste housing projects surround Prague in all directions, and any good movie about Prague in the 1970's or 1980's will generally include scenes of their construction, which was a constant fixture of life at that time. Today, most are still occupied and doing well, in sharp contrast to East Germany, where many of their equivalents have been torn down.
