It isn't clear whether this is a factory race car, but the lack of an "M" badge on the grill would suggest that car was prepped by its racing team (if it's even a real race car, and not a custom made to look like one). This version of the 3-series, the so-called E30, was produced for the 1982-1989 model years, and included the original M3, introduced in 1986.

On the subject of motorsports, I found this modified APC at the airport, by all appearances in running order, but strictly for peaceful purposes. Because it's modded, I don't know exactly the make and model. As I said earlier, the heavy use of bicycles in Germany is really striking in comparison with the Czech Republic (and of course the United States), and many of the bikes that I saw in Munich were either customised or were factory painted or designed to look custom. This bike particularly caught my eye, but there were plenty of others.

The street performers also had this customised Trabant 601. These cars run nearly forever, so they're still quite common 20 years after the fall of Communism, in spite of not even being Czech.
