Here's a high-saturation edit of the previous shot, and as with my other high-saturation edits it's meant to be artistic, rather than realistic. I might do it a third time, though, as it looks too digital to me.

This was one of a series of photos that I took in Petrinske Sady in February, taking advantage of the gloomy weather for some artistic effect. The disadvantage to this, of course, is that the colors actually came out duller than I wanted them to, so this photo has had both the contrast and the saturation bumped up a bit in Gimp. I haven't tried any black and white conversions yet, other than some for friends.

This is a considerable edit and crop of a larger shot out the window of a car. I'm considering a re-edit, as well, since this shot appears to have too much contrast to be realistic. As far as I know, this is Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

This is another heavily-edited shot, that I've marked as such. The original wasn't particularly well exposed, since getting an ideal balance was very difficult. I've brightened it, raised the contrast, and raised the saturation in Gimp. In any case, notice the crescent moon by the tower of the Stare Radnice? That's what I was trying to get.

I decided given the way their colors stood out against the faded, drab parts of the building, the flowered required a high-saturation edit in Gimp.

The colors of this building tempted me to try out the Technicolor 3 Gimp filter on it, but I'm not sure if I like the result. It looks discoloured to me even after the removal of the "retro" layer that's supposed to make the filtered photo look like cheap 16mm that's gone bad.

While I was editing this shot in Gimp, I felt that while I had done a lot of high-saturation edits in the past two years, one more wouldn't hurt.

While post-processing the first shot of the pond, I accidentally discovered this artistic treatment in Gimp. I hope that you like it.

While playing around with Elsemuko's Technicolor script in Gimp (still unsuccessfully, unfortunately, although not due to the script not working), I accidentally discovered that if I used Gimp's standard auto-equalize feature, I would get this, which rather than looking Technicolor, looks more like a bad Autochrome. Oh well....I still like it. It looks kind of like an old postcard, I think.

....I was able to get the sunset to come out in Gimp. In general, of course, this version is high saturation and painting-like, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily bad, I don't think.

Working on the accidental high saturation version of Picture 1, I decided to crank the saturation even more, and the result was this super saturated version, which I think resembles a painting.

Not satisfied completely with my realistic edit of Picture 1, I decided to also post an earlier attempt where I set the contrast and saturation too high, as I think it is at least attractive.

Here's the second edit to Picture 2. I basically used the same technique as on Picture 1 to get a better edit, bumping up the black level on the despeckle tool in Gimp. I like this shot of St. Paul's, too, and it was shot on the same night as Picture 1, right after I more or less stumbled upon it while wandering London at night.

Having practiced more with the despeckle tool in Gimp, I decided to edit this horrible scan yet again to see if I could make it less bad. Luckily, I managed to get some semi-decent results. I hope you like how it looks now. :-) Designed by Sir Christopher Wren to replace the original St. Paul's Cathedral destroyed in the Great London Fire of 1666, although that earlier St. Paul's, built in 1087-1314, had actually been the fourth cathedral to sit on this site and some historians believe that the site has Roman Pagan origins. There was a church built here at least as early as 604 AD, supposedly on an ancient Roman See. In any case, as a photo, this is one of my all-time favorites, and I hope you like it too.

To get the most of this shot, I had to resort to editing in Gimp. I think it looks a lot better now, though, and is now worth posting.

Not completely satisfied with my more realistic edit, I decided to do a super saturated version of Picture 15 to see what people would think of it.
