Radnice, Trutnov, Kralovarske kraj, Bohemia (CZ),…

02 Apr 2012 193
This was the radnice, or city hall, in Trutnov. A number of the historic buildings in the city centre had odd modernistic sculptures on them. I took this with my cameraphone, as with all of my photos in Trutnov. If I had known I would be photographing the city, I would have brought a real camera, but this is the advantage of having a cameraphone. If you don't have a real camera, you can still get some crude snapshots anyway.

Radnice, Rokycany, Plzensky kraj, Bohemia (CZ), 20…

This was the radnice in Rockycany, with the typical clock tower. The clock appeared to be out of maintenance when I was there, though.

Radnice, Edited Version, Nachod, Kralovehradecky k…

Here's the radnice, or town hall, of Nachod. This is the "Nove Radnice," or "New Town Hall." Annoyingly, like the church I can't get much information on it beyond the fact that it's the new one, and that it's a registered historic site.

Radnice Praha 4, Picture 2, Edited Version, Prague…

15 Aug 2010 273
Prague is divided into a number of districts which include within them many neighborhoods with their own names, but the districts generally go by numbers. The districts can be so large that they have their own city, or maybe it would be better to say town, halls, and this one is for Praha 4, the largest of all Prague districts which includes the boroughs of Nusle, Michle, Podoli, Zabehlice, Krc, Branik, Lhotka, Hodkovicky, and Kunratice. Some residents of other districts also legally have Praha 4 addresses for reasons that I'm not clear on. In any case, although I've been to this radnice (town hall) before, I was surprised especially by the fact that I had never photographed it before, as it's quite an ornate building. So much so, in fact, that I'm assuming it's a 19th, instead of 17th, Century building, although I could be wrong. I'm still trying to get information about it.

Stare Radnice in Brandys nad Labem, Bohemia (CZ),…

This is a highly-unusual shot (for me) that I took in Brandys nad Labem, a town so close to Prague that you can get there in a few minutes by bus from Cerny Most.

Sunset Behind Stare Radnice, Picture 2, Edited Ver…

This is another heavily-edited shot, that I've marked as such. The original wasn't particularly well exposed, since getting an ideal balance was very difficult. I've brightened it, raised the contrast, and raised the saturation in Gimp. In any case, notice the crescent moon by the tower of the Stare Radnice? That's what I was trying to get.

Radnice, Stara Boleslav, Bohemia (CZ), 2009

27 Jul 2009 250
On the way back from Lhota, the friend who I was riding with parked his car in Stara Boleslav so that we could have lunch, and this happened to be the radnice there.

Stara Radnice, Auto Equalized Version, Tabor, Bohe…

While playing around with Elsemuko's Technicolor script in Gimp (still unsuccessfully, unfortunately, although not due to the script not working), I accidentally discovered that if I used Gimp's standard auto-equalize feature, I would get this, which rather than looking Technicolor, looks more like a bad Autochrome. Oh well....I still like it. It looks kind of like an old postcard, I think.

Radnice, Picture 2, Litomerice, Bohemia (CZ), 2008

Here's yet another view of the Radnice...

Radnice HDR Fake, Litomerice, Bohemia (CZ), 2008

28 May 2009 210
This shot was more or less an accident. Generally, when I shoot and scan print film, it scans through far too grey, and needs to have the contrast and saturation cranked up in Gimp, but in this case I noticed that the saturation and contrast were high enough so that I overdid it on this first edit, and the photo came out looking like an HDR, which I can't explain. It just is....

Radnice, Litomerice, Bohemia (CZ), 2008

28 May 2009 168
The Litomerice Radnice was built over many years, dating back to the 16th Century, but the most recent incarnation dates to 1839, roughly. As I've said elsewhere, it has a complex enough design to make it look different from almost any angle.

Stara Radnice, Tabor, Bohemia (CZ), 2008

The Stara Radnice, or Old Town Hall, is another of the architectural attractions of Tabor, having been built in 1521, with two reconstruction projects in the 17th Century (when it was rebuilt into Baroque style) and the 19th Century (1878, when it was rebuilt back into Gothic).

Lumbard Hall, Clinton, NY, USA, 2007

03 Jun 2008 319
Lumbard Hall, which dates to 1926, houses offices for the Village of Clinton, although going through the websites for the village government I was unable to determine if it still qualifies as a village hall.

Paintings on Renaissance Town Hall, Plzen, Bohemia…

29 Mar 2008 330
This is the Renaissance Town Hall of Plzen, but I shot this as a closeup in this way, or at least a crop, to get some of the artwork on it, called, misleadingly, grafitti. Don't mess with this building, a---holes. In any case, I wish the photo looked better, but the scan was horrible, I think because the exposure was too dark....yet again.
