DPP #349, Picture 1, Namesti Republiky, Prague, CZ…

I know a lot less about Prague's earlier 4-wheel trams than I do about their 8-wheel trams, other than that they were built mostly by CKD (as opposed to Tatra, CKD under contract with Tatra, or in recent years Skoda), at least after electrification, and many survived into the 1970s, and many if not most of those are still in service on the historic tram service, route #91 Stresovice-Vystaviste. They're also used for charters, as here with #349 at Namesti Republiky.

Buildings, Namesti Republiky, Prague, CZ, 2006

Yaaaagh!!! This photo is a mess!!! Well, actually, that's kind of the point. Prague buildings are often so intricate that they're really hard to take in. I chose this odd angle because it was the best way to bypass all of the construction and other chaos that's enveloping Namesti Republiky right now. In spite of it all, though, it's actually better to visit it in person, as you can ignore construction, whereas the camera can't. :-)
Christmas Tree at Kotva, Prague, CZ, 2006

Kotva is a large (supposedly Russian-owned) department store near Namesti Republiky in Prague, and they now have Christmas lights all over the whole store. This Christmas tree, off to one side, is in an odd spot, though.
