Jon Searles' photos with the keyword: smichov

I was waiting in Praha-Smichov for my train to Karlstejn, and I saw this Class 163 electric with these two coaches just sitting there. It sounded and looked like it was switched on (with electrics it's not always obvious), but with only two coaches it was unlikely that it was waiting to work a service. I figured it was part of a switching move attempting to assemble a train. I really liked how this shot looked, though, so I took it.

I really love this shot. I saw these two trains lined up, and thought that it would not only make a good poster or calendar, but that Ceske Drahy would even like it!! I don't know enough Czech to ask them, though, and they're among the few travel-oriented people here who don't speak English. :-(

This shot is one of the few normal-looking shots from my Lomo 135, although even this one has been converted to black and white in Adobe Photoshop 4.0LE.

Andel actually has more than one tram stop, this one being in front of the Andel Metro station. Directly behind me, out of view, is the biggest Apple Computer store in Prague, and staight ahead and around the corner to the left is the Novy Smichov shopping centre. Around the corner to the right is the Kavakavakava coffeehouse, one of my favorites, and straight ahead is Stefanikova, and eventually the Mala Strana.

I loved the sunlight on this shot. This was taken at the same Andel tram stop as my earlier shot.

I was standing on Resinovo next to the Zeleznicni Most, and noticed this perfect shot of the Staropramen Pivovar (Brewery) and Stadion Stahov up on the hill overlooking it. Normally, I think Staropramen have a big sign out, but either I didn't manage to get it into my shot, or they've taken it down.
