This was the builder plate for 754048-7, built by CKD in 1980.

This is the builder plate of the old Russian Metro train. While the Krylice may be hard to read if you don't know Russian, note that the date of construction was 1976, meaning that while this train is much older than what's running now, it wouldn't have been one of the original ones from 1974.

This is 498.022's builder plate, indicating that it was built at Skoda's Plzen works in 1947. The winged arrow logo above it is the Skoda logo.

While I was in Masarykovo Nadrazi taking my February snow pictures, I finally got around, also to photographing one of the 971 EMU's builder plates. I obviously like builder plates since they're a very reliable (usually) of knowing the straight historical facts about a piece of rolling stock, provided the plate is original, anyway. I especially like plates that are exotic, although it's debatable whether Skoda or CKD would fall into that category.
