Mohrenstrasse, Edited Version, Koln (Cologne), Nor…

This was one of the side streets near the St. Gereon church. It was unclear whether it was really worn, or scraped clean awaiting repaving, but you could see the cobblestones underneath the blacktop.

Streetlights in Haje, Prague, CZ, 2010

This was another shot taken in Haje. There was a certain about of snow still coming down when I took this, creating a slight haze.

Opatov in N80 Viewfinder, Prague, CZ, 2009

My next photographic trip was to Modrany, although for this one I didn't take my bike, even though I had originally planned to. Instead, I went by bus, since it would be easier. This was when I was at the Opatov bus stop, and I had both my Nikon N80 and my cameraphone. I had seen shots like this on Flickr before, so I decided to experiment, and this was the result.

Corner of Betlemske Namesti, Prague, CZ, 2009

I just posted this shot because I liked the composition. That's about it, really.

U Halanku Pivovar, Betlemske Namesti, Prague, CZ,…

Prior to the 19th Century, there was almost a brewery for every major pub in every city in Central Europe, with only industrialisation changing the custom. In well-preserved cities like Prague, however, the buildings have been preserved and kept in use as pubs, hotels, and other businesses. I'm not aware, however, if this one is a hotel, a pub, both, or something else.

Hand Pump in Betlemske Namesti, Picture 2, Prague,…

I think that compositionally, even though you can see that this pump is wet and functioning, this shot is more pleasing to the eye.

This shot also works quite well in black and white, so I converted it even though it's a cheesy third-rate cameraphone image.

Hand Pump in Betlemske Namesti, Prague, CZ, 2009

09 Dec 2009 317
Handpumps like this, dating to the days before central plumbing in all buildings, often still work, as you can see from the wetness on this one. These can be found everywhere in the city centre of Prague, and recommending any particular neighborhood wouldn't make sense, as there are a few of them almost everywhere.

Blacksmith at Mustek, Vaclavske Namesti, Prague, C…

Folk crafts of various kinds can be found in many city centres in the Czech Republic, and even Prague is no exception. This was a blacksmith, most visibly making swords, but also making a full range of other iron souvenirs.

This was a side street in Litomysl which I found while walking around looking for lunch.

And....here's a third shot of the trams at the castle.

Here's an alternate shot to my other of the trams at the Royal Castle.

Ulica Swietojanska, Warsaw, Poland, 2007

This IS Swietojanska, one of the many shopping streets in the old town.

Street Scene, Picture 2, Warsaw, Poland, 2007

11 Dec 2007 221
If I'm not mistaken this street is Swietojanska, although I could be mistaken so I'm just going to call it a "street scene."

Bednarska Street Sign and Light, Warsaw, Poland, 2…

Here's the prettier side of Bednarska, with a pretty touristy streetlamp. It makes me want to throw up. Just kidding. :-)

Panska, Olomouc, Moravia (CZ), 2006

This is the small street of Panska in Olomouc. I took this photo solely because I liked how it looked, and now I still like it, so I've posted it here.

Tyrell Street In Bradford, West Yorkshire, England…

This is Tyrell Street in Bradford (thanks to Lordrich for the name). The ornate building on the end is the former wool exchange, now a bookshop.

28 Rijna In The Sun, Picture 2, Prague, CZ, 2007

01 Sep 2007 490
Same as the previous shot, I took this one for the sunlight, worried that my camera had malfunctioned on the first shot. In reality, this shot is more notable for the shadows in the foreground and the apparent light leak in the upper left. That light leak comes and goes on my Lomo 135, and I have yet to pinpoint the cause.
