My mother-in-law Jifke was born in Gorinchen, as a child she traveled to Indonesia with her family where they were taken prisoner by the Japanese in WWII. Back in Holland, she went to live in her grandmother's house at number 19 Varkensmakrt. (PIP 1 and 2) She remembers how the square was divided into cubicles for the sale of pigs. She also remembers that her grandmother used to send her and her sisters (Gerda and Andrea) to call her grandfather who was having a drink in the bar called the Owl. After 80 years, the number 19 of Varkenmarkt is still there, the square is still there and the bar The owl is still there, even if there are no more pigs.

Taking vantage from a high point of view (ftom the burcht of Leiden) on a beautiful October afternoon . One of my favorites cities of Netherland. Check full size for details HFF

Giethoorn is a beautiful village 120 Knm north east from Amsterdam It´s famous because has many canals, the only way to go to the houses (wich are very pintorestic) is crossing its many bridges (172 in the village) or by boat. This shot has a perspective compressed because the use of a tele lens at 300 mm. The PIPs shows the view of the bridges from the boat and how to go throuth it to a house. HFF (very special for me because it´s my birthday) and have a great new year At summer very crowdy and noisy disturbs a lot the life of the locals, we were at October, hopefully no rain

A beautiful Market in front of the famous cube houses of Rotterdam. Builded in 2014 was designed by architectural firm MVRDV Has an unsual horseshoe shape It´s walls and ceiling are cover by 4000 pieces of metal printed using the same technology that uses Pixar studios for its 3d films. The original file has 1.5 terabites Artwork by Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam, named Horn of Plenty.The artwork shows strongly enlarged fruits, vegetables, seeds, fish, flowers and insects. Difficult to trasmit the sensation to beeing there. A must visit place if you go to Rotterdam, specially with the magic of the night At the PIP are my wife Gerda, my daughter Gabiela and his boyfriend ZeZe (he is peruvian-dutch) , you can see easily the magnificent work of ceilings and walls

Giethoorn, 130 Km north of Amsterdam is a beautiful village, is named the Venecia of Holland or the Venecia of the north or the "water village", because it´s full of canals and a very nice lake, it has 170 bridges crossing the canals to go to its very nice houses, many like thisone that i shoot early in the morning with the sunrising, very typical straw roof. We have a nice time there at fall. In winter the water freeze and locals practice ice sky A lovely place that must be visited in a trip to Netherland At summer is very crowdy and disturbs so much the life of the residents. nI future shots will show the bridges and canals
