Lavender again and no apologies! (Although I have just seen that I posted this only a week ago, DOH!!)

Spanish or Iberian lavender, Sierra de La Cabrera. On the old GR10, the long distance footpath from Valencia to Lisbon (the new path goes north just before here and takes a radically new route north of the Sierra - no idea why they changed it - ), crossing the entire peninsula. Actually hardly anyone attempts this, such is the alternative lure of the many pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Campostela.

Sierra de La Cabrera. Midsummer on the plain and in the valleys, it is still late spring up in the mountains.

Madrid Province. La Sierra de Giadarrama is on the skyline. The village you see is Fuente El Saz and I guess this path was the old route beween it and Algete as it is almost as the crow flies - the road today goes some way out to join the main road before doubling back. It has bcome traditional for me to do a handstand on that rock on the left. Unfortunately I usually walk on my own and so no one is on hand to take shots and I haven't worked out a timer delay so I can take shots of myself!!
