Príncipe Pío metro and mainline station, Madrid.

This was formerly the main line station to all points north and was called La Estacíon del Norte.

Madrid mainline and metro station. Once the main station for trains to the north and the old name was Estación del Norte. Now a hub for local mainline suburban trains and the Metro.

I use both the main line trains (one seen here rushing through) and the metro (stationary trains seen below) all the time, travelling between classes. I also use the buses and shanks's pony just as often.

This iron superstructure was the first of its kind in Madrid and covered the Estación del Norte, then the major Madrid railway terminal, now Principe Pío metro and local mainline station and no longer a major terminal.

I like this station. It has a bit of everything, 19th century wrought iron superstructure, railway lines crossing other railway lines only a few feet above your head (a bit disconcerting the first time you experience it!) and modern metro design.
