La Sierra de La Cabrera. I enjoyed my Canon digital which a kind Pano member sent to me after I dropped my beloved Nokia N95 in a bog in Cornwall. Sadly it gave up accepting charge from any charger after about 9 months. Many of my best countryside, night and sunrise / sunset shots were taken with it. I still have it and will find a Canon service centre to get it fixed when I can summon up the spondooliks! Shot taken in late September but in both 2011 and 2012, I distinctly recall that summer lasted well into November!

The main path through the Sierra only touches the crest of the ridge on a couple of occasions such as here. I prefer to keep to the actual ridge and scramble along the rocky crest, wherever possible!

I took my girlfriend here once. She was complaining about the path (or lack of one!), her footwear, her fear of heights and then she scrambled up and round the corner ahead of me - with a helpful push à la derrière from yours truly - and suddenly she saw the point of all the effort and struggle and puff!!! .. and why I do this!! (La Sierra de La Cabrera, The Bustarviejo Valley below and lots of granite! In the distance from right to left, Peñalara partly in cloud, Bola del Mundo, Sierra de La Pedriza - La Sierra de Cabrera's big brother in the granite extravaganza stakes!)
