I never know if these into the sun shots will ever work with my phone as I used to be able to have some control in my days of SLRs and filters. (but I'm talking 1970s and 80s here!)
Sight and sound. Always liked the Winter brothers version of authentic blues. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzhgmJtKNZw
Granite scenery - Bosigran Head

Typical of the granite coastal areas in Cornwall. This was a surprisingly warm and sunny March day. I only came here on a whim and couldn't have been luckier with the weather. Both before and after had seen weeks of dreary grey skies.

Not somewhere I'd want to be shipwrecked!
I suggest on large and on large again, if you know what I mean - to see the granite and sea detail here.
And yes: there is a (somewhat perilous) way down to that beach!

The coast at Bosigran Head. A good contrast with the previous upload I feel!
This one works reasonably well on large (imho).

Looking away from the sea and towards Carn Galva. The slopes here are gentle ones - great for beginners. Better on large for greater detail of the granite and this landscape.

Bosigran Head: yellow gorse, grey granite and blue sea. Typical of Cornwall on this coast.

I remember doing this climb in 1978 but I forget its name or its grade (of difficulty, possibly a VS - very severe - actually not so technically demanding). It was nice to escape for a few hours today and re-visit an old stamping ground: Zennor.
Shooting into the sun. Wasn't sure if it was going to work.

Looking west along the coast from Bosigran Head. A famous rock climb (or two) tops out at this point.

I have generally been lucky with the weather in Cornwall on my all-too-infrequent visits home. But you have to expect the odd dull day here and there!

Carn Galver tin mine and count house.

Situated at Bosigran, Zennor, Cornwal. This wasn't a particularly successful tin mine and closed in the 1870s after only a couple of decades of mediocre production. The count house was the Stannary Office for the Crown and controlled mining licences and purity / quality / weight issues, etc. This one was the official mining office for a wide area, not just for this one mine. It is now a hostel for adventure groups, climbers, kayakers, walkers and the like. I have stayed here with my old uni pals on sea-cliff climbing holidays and had a great time, helped by the fact that I had / have family up the road!
In the background are Commando Ridge and Bosigran Head, both excellent climbing areas and, of course, the Atlantic Ocean.
For Pam.
