Sierra de La Cabrera on a bitterly cold winter's day (even if it was late March!). Some fun scrambling to be had round here!

Sierra de La Cabrera.

La Sierra de Guadarrama, from the western end of La Sierra de La Cabrera from near La Torre de Valdemanco and looking over the town of that name and the Bustarviejo Valley with La Cuerda Larga (including Bolo del Mundo) and Mondalindo the two mountains left and right respectively. I don't think I've been up here since this shot was taken 7 years ago. It needs a re-visit!

At weekends these crags are crowded with climbers, often youth adventure groups abseiling, that sort of thing. The relatively gentle slope at some of the crags, together with the superb friction that granite affords, makes for an ideal training ground.

Sierra de La Cabrera. From L to R, La Torre de Valdemanco, Las Torres de El Cancho Largo and El Cancho Gordo. There are many do-able walks up to the ridge from here, I can assure you! Best on large, please.

Amazingly, my first walk in the Sierra de La Cabrera since December 2015! And it hasn't changed a bit!
