Mini waterfall at Sally's Bottom, Porthtowan, Cornwall. Sally was reputed to be a Cornish ogress. Best on Z. This little waterfall as seen from the side and a shot from another occasion: www.ipernity.com/doc/2247598/47289312/in/album/1059128

Near Porthtowan, Cornish coast path. These mineshafts would once have been capped with concrete but now they are given grilles to enable access for the colonies of bats that use them.

Always fun to explore the millions of rockpools along the north Cornish coast at low tide.

I'm unsure about the brightly coloured stones. This area (Porthtowan) was heavily mined for many years and for a number of minerals and I assume that these are the ores of some of them.

Photo taken in August 2014. I previously walked this stretch of coast path in the summer of 2010 and the path did indeed go straight across from this point! A massive land slip had occurred in those few years. Porthtowan and St Agnes Beacon can be seen. First posted on ipernity in 2018. Better on large.

If you follow this path down to where it meets the cliff face ahead, you can then be guided by the blue rope (more easily visible on large) down the steep slope to the beach. It's much easier than it looks but not for the fainthearted!
At low tide you simply walk round the headland!
My 200th photo on ipernity. That equates to just over one a day. More than I thought. I hope to upload 1,000s eventually!! :o)
