Generally a pleasant day but for half an hour a snow storm rolled in sharply and I saw it coming and prayed it would be over quickly (I was in t-shirt gear). Thankfully it was short-lived, but a warning to the likes of me that you must always be prepared in the mountains! Even for a snow storm in May!

This is pretty inaccessible; yet this huge granite boulder has been hacked by man. The jagged edge is the give-away here. The local villages were originally all granite and the streets of Madrid are paved with it.

I came here often but before I had a camera. Then I discovered the Sierra de La Cabrera seen here which looks small but which has much more variety and interest than Mondalino. So I switched my loyalties, and this shot is from the last time I set foot on Mondalindo and even though it was exactly 8 years ago, it seems like yesterday! One day I will walk here again.

This is what is stopping the giant granite boulder rolling down the hill! It does a good job. The boulder is well-and-truly wedged! The earlier shot of this boulder can be seen on this page.
