Granite and gorse and the ubiquitous yellow and white waymark signs (a fresh dab of paint which is nice but, really, these are splashed on rocks and trees every 20 yards or so which is way too much!).

This path rarely touches the cliff edge and so I prefer to follow the edge of the sierra proper with a bit of scrambling thrown in.
