Typical of the granite coastal areas in Cornwall. This was a surprisingly warm and sunny March day. I only came here on a whim and couldn't have been luckier with the weather. Both before and after had seen weeks of dreary grey skies.

Sight and Sound: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF39XK6EVEk If you don't know this Chopin piece (Ballade No 1) may I suggest you listen to all 8 minutes. it is considered by a few (me included) to be his greatest work. It seems to go through ALL the emotions form A to Z and then some; the music is extraordinarily beautiful and powerful. The audience coughing gets blown away by Sviatoslav Richter's 1960 performance so that you don't really notice it after a while!

A wonderful stretch of the the South West Peninsula Coast Path, Zennor, West Penwith, Cornwall. Gurnard's Head; so named because of its resemblance to the fish. The raised coastal platform, or strip, will immediately be apparent to all you amateur geographers out there!
