I've posted this before I guess. But the place is irresistible! For Pam.

Iconic lighthouse and Island. For Pam.

The sun has caught the harbour nicely here. In the distance is Godrevy lighthouse. It's is a view to the lighthoiuse from Talland, a large house not all that far from here that inspired Virginia Woolfe to write "To the Lighthouse", although the book is actually set in Scotland. Sight and Sound (no reason except that I understand from a recent "silly season" Times article that there were only 8 recorded Nigels born last year in the UK and yet I know or knew very many, two of whom lived in St Ives in the 70s and 80s. Something of a de-luxe rockpool! There should have been plenty of mussels but my greedy Spanish brother-in-law had been here the day before and took the lot. We had a great supper though!

Godrevy Coast, Cornwall

Sorry about the title; I couldn't resist it (and yes, I do know the correct spelling!) Godrevy Lighthouse, Island and Point. Lots of clear water and lots of mussels! (I cooked moules marinieres later that day!)

Taken from Navrax Point, more or less into the sun.

Godrevy was the lighthouse in Virginia Woolfe's novel; 'To The Lighthouse'. Although she set it in Scotland, she could see Godrevy every day from her house, Talland, near St Ives.
