Maligne Canyon is in the northeastern part of Jasper National Park and is an amazing place, the canyon, 50 meters deep in places, so narrow that the water at the bottom of the canyon cannot even be seen. Jasper National Park is one of the better known Canadian parks and is in western Alberta.

This native orchid we saw and photographed for the first time in Jasper National Park in Alberta along the Maligne Lake Road. It is distinguished by its long lip, which looks a bit like a forked snake's tongue.

This bog orchid is distinguished by its yellowish-green lip and cylindrical spur. It is known as the Northern Green Bog Orchis and in this case was seen and photographed along the Maligne Lake Road in Jasper National Park, Alberta.

A wood lily photographed along the Maligne Lake Road in Jasper. This lily does not grow very tall, a foot or less, but it was everywhere in Jasper and along the Yellowhead Highway towards Edmonton.
