Taken from Stanley Park looking across to the docks on the Vancouver waterfront. I have no idea what the yellow material is that they are loading, though I think someone suggested it was sulphur. Liked the colors in this shot and thought I'd post it for that reason.

Didn't feel like posting a flower today, so thought I'd post this older picture instead - fits my mood better and that might have something to do with the changing seasons, but who knows. This was taken across the Vancouver harbor from Stanley Park on what was obviously a rather poor day. The area of the waterfront shown was the center of events for the Vancouver Winter Olympics. I am fascinated by the near monochrome effects one gets on the waterfront on an overcast day, something that would probably be quite boring except for the touches of color, but perhaps the image is not as interesting as I think - one's view of things is always colored by one's emotions and we have a great affection for the city of Vancouver.
