Dendrobium laevifolium belongs to section Oxyglossum of the genus but is a warm-growing species, one of the few in that section. It ordinarily has bright purple-pink flowers, but this clone is unusual in that the flowers are a pale peach color and are smaller than other plants of the species, 2cm long. The plant is also smaller, only 4.5cm. The species is from New Guinea, the Solomon Island, Bougainville and other South Pacific Islands.

It belongs to the Oxyglossum group of Dendrobiums and is supposed to be tolerant of warmer temperatures since it is found from low to high elevations. It is from Salawesi, New Guinea, New Britain, Bougainville, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Fiji. orchidsinbloom-ron.blogspot.com/2013/02/dendrobium-masara...
