This seabird colony of Pelagic Cormorants and Common Murres (Guillemots) was photographed at Yaquina Head on the Oregon coast near Newport.

Photographed on the Daintree River, I believe this is the Little Pied Cormorant, though the boat owner called it a Little Cormorant. We did a wildlife cruise on the Daintree River, the main focus of which was Saltwater Crocodiles, but we saw a number of birds as well.

The photo was taken last autumn at Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park, Vancouver. We were on a camping trip May 23-25 with a group of 6-8th graders and while with them went as foot passengers on the ferry to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. While waiting for the ferry to leave I tried to get pictures of the cormorants who were nesting on the docking pilings and flying back and forth to the water. This was the best of the in-flight shots that I was able to get. Photographed near the Anacortes to San Juan ferry dock. Duriong our camping trip we went as foot passengers on the ferry to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. This was taken just before the ferry left. ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2012/09/deception-p...
