We are members of the Spokane Orchid Society and had our show the end of March. I did not show any plants but put in an educational exhibit on native orchids (shown in one of the insets) and took photos of others' plants, a few of which are shown here. This is a hybrid of tropical slipper orchid species, a Paphiopedilum. I am not sure I have the hybrid name correct. I photographed the show tag but could not read it very well in the photo.

This is the very fragrant flower of an orchid species related to Cattleya. It is known not only for its fragrance but for its fringed lip (shown in the photo) and petals. The photo was taken at our local orchid show.

Paphiopedilum spicerianum is a tropical slipper orchid native to India, Myanmar and China. This example of the species was shown at our local orchid show.

This very unusual orchid is one of the "Jewel Orchids" grown not only for their flowers but for their beautiful foliage. They are native to southeast Asia. This example was photographed at our local orchid show.

This is a hybrid of Epidendrum pseudepidendrum and Cattleya Claesiana.
It was photographed at the Mount Baker Orchid Society show in Mount Vernon, Washington.
