This is where we stayed with family during our time together near Glacier National Park. The place is Glacier Homestead, a huge Lodge that easily accommodated all thirty of us, 12 adults and 18 children. One of the grandchildren, Micah, is standing out in front.

These are some of the eighteen grandchildren who were with us at Glacier Homestead and Glacier National Park in Montana. Left to right are Evelyn, Ashlynn, Grant, Megan, Logan and Cole (Grant and Logan are twins). They are from three families.

Mining activity ceased at Monte Cristo around the turn of the century, but the place continued to be maintained as a tourist destination until the 1980's. This was the sign from the lodge that burned to the ground in 1983, but which had been cut off in 1980 by flooding in the area that washed out parts of the road and the Twin Bridges that crossed the river. ronaldhanko-orchidhunter.blogspot.com/2012/09/poodle-dog-...
