As we hiked from Upper Gaylor Lake to the site of the old Sierra Silver Mine, this was the view back down the trail. The peak is Gaylor Peak and the ridge over which hiked to reach the lakes is just beyond the peak.

Taken as we hiked from Middle to Upper Gaylor Lake in Yosemite National Park - I believe the red leaves are of the wild blueberry.

Our hike to Gaylor Lakes took us up over a ridge and down to Middle Gaylor Lake, shown here. We hiked on from here to Upper Gaylor Lake and into the surrounding mountains to the now abandoned Great Sierra Silver Mine.

This was taken near Middle Gaylor Lake in Yosemite National Park as we hiked to the lakes and on to the Great Sierra Silver Mine.

The second day of our stay in Yosemite we drove from our Crane Flat campground to the Tuolumne Meadows Vistors' Center and asked about hiking in the area. The ranger to whom we spoke suggested the Gaylor Lakes Trail further to the east. We spent a good part of the day hiking that trail first to Middle Gaylor Lake, shown in the photo, then to Upper Gaylor Lake and finally to the site of the Great Sierra Silver Mine in the mountains beyond the lakes.
