These are more of the Sky Art Sculptures in the desert around the town of Borrego Spins, California. The two here are supposed to be an Allosaurus and a Carnotaurus.

Photographed in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park along the Hellhole Canyon trail, the cacti are Southwestern Barrel Cactus and the Ocotillo in front of them is a very young plant (they grow to be about fifteen feet tall). The smaller sunlit plant at the base of the cacti is a young Brittlebush.

This is a young stem of an Ocotillo plant. Ocotillo is common in parts of the desert southwest of the United States and Mexico. It is not a cactus though many identify it as such. This example was photographed along the Hellhole Canyon trail in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.

The last night of our stay in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, we camped in the mountains and had heavy rains and high winds with gusts to 80 miles per hour. Coming down from the mountains we stopped several times to photograph this rainbow. It was at times partially doubled as can barely be seen on the left of the photo, which was taken with my phone.

This is another photo from one of our hikes in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in southern California. The hike was only a couple of miles but took us through this narrow canyon where in places we had to turn sideways to get through and in others scramble or climb a bit.

The bird is a Verdin, a species of Tit, and a new siting for me when photographed. It was apparently feeding on the flowers of an Ocotillo when we interrupted its dinner.

When we saw this Verdin (a species of Tit) on Ocotillo at the Anza-Borrego Visitors' Center, it was a new bird for my life list. It was apparently feeding on the pollen of the Ocotillo flowers.
