B. nodosa is often called "The Lady of the Night" because of its night-time fragrance. Even without the fragrance it is a popular and attractive orchid often used in hybridizing. This is a clone of the species that is about half the size of other plants. It's identity has been questioned, however. It ranges through the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and into South America.
