Here is a Northwestern Fritillary on a California Coneflower. We had gone bog-crawling looking for orchids and Cobra Lilies along the Illinois River when the photo was taken.

This is, I believe, a Northwestern Fritillary ona California Coneflower photographed in a bog in southwestern Oregon on a Sneezeweed flower. We had been orchid hunting along the Illinois River and found some interesting wildflowers.
