I wish I could describe what it is like to walk among the Redwoods, but I am not sure there are words adequate to describe them and the awe one feels walking among them. I do know that when among them I always feel like I should speak in whispers. These photos, too, the last I'll post of the Redwoods, only hint at their majesty and beauty.

This was one of the trails we walked in Jedediah Smith State Park, a trail that meanders through the Simpson-Reed Grove of Redwoods.

Taken along the trail through the Simpson-Reed Grove in Jedediah Smith State Park, the photo shows the Sword Ferns that are everywhere among the Redwoods as well as a fallen tree, part of which has been removed to keep the trail clear.

Photographed in Jedediah Smith State Park along the Simpson-Reed Grove Trail, this is one of the few wildflowers we saw among the Redwoods. It is the Stoutleaf Iris, Iris tenax.

This fallen Redwood was photographed in the Simpson-Reed Grove in Jedediah Smith State Park. The top of the fallen trunk is about eight feet (2.5 meters) from the ground.
