I'm posting a few more photos from Dry Falls State Park, some of them taken in 2018 on a field trip with the Washington Native Orchid Society. They'll be the last I'll be posting from there, but have so many photos taken recently that I do not even know what I'll be posting next . This is the Prairie Mariposa Lily, a beautiful wildflower that also grows in the fields near our home. Mariposas are some of our favorite wildflowers and this is one of the more beautiful of them. They usually grow in very dry areas and that certainly describes Dry Falls. It is in the high desert of eastern Washington.

This Scorpion was photographed at Lenore Caves and is one of our native Scorpions. It is quite small, only about four centimeters, but still can sting. We looked for them under rocks and finally found this one.

This is one of our native shrubs, Ribes inerme, the White-stemmed Gooseberry, edible and very tasty. Photographed at Dry Falls State Park in eastern Washington, it was loaded with fruit when photographed.

One more photo from the area we hiked in Dry Falls State Park. This was near Deep Lake and we did not hike far as the mosquitoes were very bad.
