This is Shrubby Cinquefoil photographed near the visitors' center in Denali National Park. We hiked some of the trails near the visitors' center while waiting for the backpackers' bus which would take us to the Sanctuary campground.

When in Denali National Park in 2015 we had to wait several hours for the campers' bus at the visitors' center. We spent the time hiking the area and encountered this cow moose at Horseshoe Lake. We later heard that she had attacked several visitors but we had no problems with her though we did stay at a distance.

In 2015 when we were in Alaska we spent several days in Denali National Park. We camped at the Sanctuary River and took the bus to Wonder Lake, hiking back along the Park Road after visiting the lake, eventually catching the bus back to our campground. This was one of the ponds along the road.

We spent several days in Denali National Park in 2015 when we visited Alaska in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary. We camped at the Sanctuary River and took the bus to Wonder Lake one of those days. It was very smoky in Denali and so we never saw the mountain itself, but enjoyed the park nonetheless. This was Wonder Lake from which we hiked back part way along the Park Road, eventually catching the bus back to our campground.

These photos are from a 2016 trip to Alaska. Polychrome Pass is in Denali National Park where we camped at Sanctuary River and from there explored the park. We did not see Denali Peak, however, since there were wildfires burning in the area and it was very smoky.

Not the greatest of bird photos, nor the most uncommon of birds, but a cute little guy nonetheless. The photo was taken in Denali National Park, but the range of the White-crowned Sparrow is over most of North America.

Since Mount McKinley has been renamed by presidential fiat, I thought I should post a photo from the park. I can't post one of the renamed mountain since we didn't see it, so this will have to do. This is Horseshoe Lake near the park entrance. We hiked there early in the morning as we waited for the camper's bus to take us to the Sanctuary River.

Photographed in Denali National Park near Polychrome Pass, this bird was raising a brood of young under a bridge and so was there for photos when the bus went by.

We saw this Red Fox from the bus as we were traveling through Denali to Toklat. The photo was taken from the bus and so is neither as sharp as I would like nor at the angle I would have liked. She (I am assuming it was a female) has two or three small animals in its mouth, probably Ground Squirrels, and probably as food for her young. She paid us and the bus no mind but trotted along the side of road for quite a ways.

This is another of my wife's photos, this one from Wonder Lake near the end of the single ninety-two mile road into Denali National Park. We had taken the bus to the end of the road and spent some time at Wonder Lake before doing a bit of hiking. Some of the best views of Mount McKinley can be had from the lake but when we were there it was very hazy and smokey.

This is another photo of the cow moose we saw at Horseshoe Lake in Denali National Park. At this point the moose was feeding in the lake.

This was taken from one of the buses we rode in Denali in the area of Polychrome Pass. The air while we were in the park was very hazy and smoky from the numerous wildfires burning in the park, as is obvious from this photo.
