Often called an Antelope, the Pronghorn is no relation of the Old World Antelopes and its closest relatives are Giraffes and Okapis. The Pronghorn is a common sight in the west and this one was photographed near the north entrance to Yellowstone which brings us full circle (counterclockwise) around the upper loop of Yellowstone's main road and back out the north entrance.

Though often referred to as Antelope these American mammals are not related to the African Antelopes, but are a unique species with no close relatives anywhere. They are the second fastest land animals in the world, having been clocked as fast as 53 miles per hour. These were photographed in Wyoming along Highway 90.
