These are some of the colored algae that are found in the waters of Firehole Lake, a hot lake on the southwest side of Yellowstone National Park.

The hot waters of Firehole Lake provide a home for bacteria and algae that color the edges and bottom of this shallow but hot lake.

These are the hot springs and geysers on the east end of Firehole Lake that provide much of the hot water that keeps thew lake constantly steaming. The photo also shows some of the boardwalks that make these areas accessible while keeping viewers safe.

Firehole Lake is a hot lake on the west side of Yellowstone National Park that is warmed by hot springs and geysers. The steam rising from the lake is visible in the photos and one of them shows a small geyser on the east side of the lake.
