This was taken at Ashford Mill in Death Valley where we spent the fourth night of our stay in the park. This is also one of my first attempts at astral photography.

We spent the fourth night of our stay in Death Valley back at Ashford Mill intending to head up into Warm Springs Canyon the next morning. Since it was a clear night and we were far from any lights I thought I'd try some astral photography and these were a couple of the shots I took looking west with some of the light from the sunset still remaining.

After driving back to Death Valley National Park from Ash Meadows Wildlife Refuge we spent the night at Ashford Mill, sleeping in the back of our van as we customarily do, but first watching and photographing the sunset.

We watched the sunset on the third day of our stay in Death Valley National Park from the turnoff at Ashford Mill and then spent the night there as well.

These ruins are all that remain of the Ashford Mill, an old gold mining mill on the southern end of Death Valley at an elevation of 121 feet (37 m) below sea level. The mill was used to process ore from the Golden Treasure Mine in the mountains to the east (see inset). This photo was taken near sunset and after photographing the mill and the sunset we had our evening meal there and slept the night there.
