This is another view of Glen Spring, an active hot spring along the Upper Terraces Drive near Mammoth in Yellowstone National Park.

Glen Spring is a currently active hot spring along the Upper Terrace Drive in Yellowstone National Park's Mammoth Hot Springs area. Remember, we are touring Yellowstone and are following the Grand Loop Road counterclockwise Grand Loop is the upper loop of Yellowstone's main road which forms a rough figure "8". Just south of the village of Mammoth and the Lower Terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs is a short one-way drive through the Upper Terraces and this spring is one of the features there. The drive is narrow and winding and buses, and large vehicles are not allowed on the road. The inset photos show the following: 1) Another view of Glen Spring, shown here. 2) Orange Mound Spring, a huge mound of travertine that is usually thermally active and one of the main features of this drive through the Upper Terraces. 3) White Elephant Terrace, another active area and prominent feature of the Upper Terraces Drive. 4) Black-billed Magpie looking for food and keeping an eye on us. 5) A Double-striped Bluet Dameselfly resting on a lump of travertine.

This is Glen Spring in the Upper Terraces area of Mammoth Hot Springs on the north end of Yellowstone National Park. The photo was taken by my wife as we drove through the area, stopping occasionally where we could find parking.
